Hawksbill Hope, Inc was founded in 2009 to aid in the conservation of Belize’s natural resources by providing support to monitoring nesting beaches and collecting data on endangered hawksbill sea turtles.
Hawksbill Hope, Inc was founded in 2009 to aid in the conservation of Belize’s natural resources by providing support to monitoring nesting beaches and collecting data on endangered hawksbill sea turtles.
Hawksbill Hope, through individual contributions and grant funding, is able to satellite tag marine sea turtles during the nesting season in Belize. Transmissions from each of the deployed tags can be seen at seaturtle.org
In 2017, the mission of Hawksbill Hope was modified to broaden its impact on the Gales Point community. To assist every high school aged child in Gales Point to make sure that an opportunity at education is never out of reach
Marymount University offers summer study abroad courses in marine biology. Students assist with nesting beach monitoring and experience local Creole culture while living in the Gales Point community.
Join the residents of the remote village of Gales Point, Belize on an impressionistic and immersive film experience celebrating their efforts to help conserve hawksbill sea turtles.
Gales Point villagers are actively involved in the hawksbill sea turtle nesting beach monitoring and data collection. Hawksbill Hope works to provide funding and opportunities for community conservation and education programs.
